Blackstock Road, New Kings Road, and Ronald’s Road: three London sites, each a distinct response to reuse.
At Blackstock Road and New Kings Road, one new-build and one repurposed shoe factory are united by a shared material language. London stock bricks, no longer produced, were laid in lime mortar to allow future disassembly and reuse. This choice, though slower, preserves the integrity of the bricks, which fracture under cement-based mixes and cannot survive cleaning.
Courtyards anchor both buildings, offering quiet continuity between past and present

At Ronald’s Road, a derelict leather warehouse has been reimagined as a home. A motorised sliding rooflight opens the interior to the night sky and city soundscape, revitalising the family space with light and air. When the roof opens, the sound shifts.
City noise mixes with the movement of air, distant birdsong, and the subtle presence of nature. It’s a reminder that even in dense urban settings, the natural world finds its way in.
